Where to put CBZ files?

I'm currently trying to put some CBZ (zipped jpegs, usually scanned comics) files, but neither IFS nor ZeroUp would let me. The former doesn't allow the extension at all, while the latter only allows files bigger than 10MB - and mine is below that. Where should such files be hosted on Zeronet?

ZeroPress version 0.3 This version comes with the ability to add images inside your posts. It is still in a primitive stage, so after insertion you will have to drag and drop it at the point of your document you want it to exist. The feature where it will be placed right where you type, will be implemented in a later version. Not the next one. It also comes with some minor upgrades to the code which from now on will also be available on github. ZeroNet GitCenter will be next.

Developing another 9Gag look-alike from scratch to learn more about ZeroNet coding

As some people might be aware, I've already attempted to adapt other webzites for my tastes but now I've decided to create one from scratch to develop skills in Zeronet programming. [ZeroFun](/1ZGagD38ypjSoUrpNEGaPFmAMKFcdud7C/); # TODO: 1. Delete button for comments 1. Delete button for already downloaded posts 1. Make optional to preload images and/or videos. 1. trending session 1. like/dislike buttons for comments 1. subdivide into categories. 1. page for individual users 1. make a better looking layout. 1. meme generator. # DONE(but with a couple bugs): 1. delete button 1. like/dislike counter 1. Markdown compatible comment sections 1. Hot Session 1. Rewrite URL on Omnibox on Javascript navigation. 1. restrict loaded posts per scroll. 1. Give uploader option to tick "Loop video" on upload. 1. Newsfeed integrated to posts. 1. Prevent files from autodownloading I welcome any suggestion regarding layout.

FYI Krixano is deleting their older zites

krixano@{zeroid.bit,kxoid.bit} is in the process of deleting his older zites. For the purposes of learning, source code for them is still available on their [github](https://github.com/krixano). You can continue to check out his current projects: [KxoBlock](, a zite to share and manage ZeroNet blocklists, and [KxoID](, a federated Identity Provider with unique username checks.

Unencrypted payment transactions on German trains

I am currently travelling by train in Germany. I noticed an open W-Lan during the card payment in the train. Is the railway company really that bad? Transferring bank data via an insecure connection is creepy, isn't it? the network was active during all card payments on the train until the train attendant paused. I didn't record anything because I didn't have a notebook with me. But my Android phone received this network well while riding. Also, the signal strength changed with the distance between me and the train attendant. The name of the WLAN was: PP$x7Q#123

Feature Request: Assume these values if content.json in site's root folder doesn't state otherwise

"viewport": "width=device-width, initial-scale=0.8", This is important for responsive design on mobile phones. You'll also have the same size 0 button on all sites that don't state otherwise. It will magically fix all sites to look as good on mobile as on desktop. The problem is that without this, a bunch of sites have a shrunk 0 button and grown site elements in portrait. It becomes obnoxious and atrocious. This is absolutely essential and necessary. I'm tired of telling every site author how to fix their site so it displays properly on mobile, with no guarantee they will get around to it, if they're even still around or alive.

Notre Dame of Paris

There are different theories to explain The Fire of Notre Dame de Paris, but what I have seen is that the wood that burned was not oak but pine. The oak burns very slowly but the pinewood burns very quickly. I think there was a fraud the last time they changed the roof beams (year?), Sold to the archbishopric of Paris pine wood at a price of much more expensive oak. Researchers of the fire will have already discovered pine in the burnt remains but the French government is adamant in refusing to tell the truth to the people because of the fear that France will be ridiculed throughout the world. In the great and majestic France there were also and there are scams; Macrom is silent.

Hello, Is it possible to use .bit + bitmitigate ? Example: Im trying to route my .bit traffic through bitmitigate. But it don't seem to work. I can add the domain.bit through it, but it isn't forwarding? Is there anything I'm missing? I have added bitmitigate's IP/DNS to my .bit domain and Added my .bit IP to bitmitigate's origin IP. What I'm trying to achieve here are these. .bit domain ---> bitmitigate -->> to Destination IP. or Mask .bit Real IP through VPN? I just want to hide my real IP, rather than broadcasting it. Let me know if anyone can help. I am willing to pay for the service.

Being anti-semitic IS NORMAL.

Being anti-semitic IS NORMAL. The jewish Einstein said: http://www.unz.com/print/Colliers-1938nov26-00009/ "The formation of groups has an invigorating effect in all spheres of human striving, perhaps mostly due to the struggle between the convictions and aims represented by the different groups. The Jews too form such a group with a definite character of its own, and anti-Semitism is nothing but the antagonistic attitude produced in the non-Jews by the Jewish group. This is a normal social reaction. But for the political abuse resulting from it, it might never have been designated by a special name." - This attitude of anti-semitism is ostracized, moreover like that of anti-masonism but in itself IS NOT MY PROBLEM because I am a Christian, therefore not Jewish, Christian and therefore by occurrence not a Freemason.

[Alpha] Nodis Chatroom for zeronet.

I have been working on this easy to use and beautiful chatroom for zeronet called Nodis Chat and would like to share it with you all. Note that this is a very alpha version and some things might not work properly or work at all. What I've been able to achieve so far is a general chatroom that you can use to chat with others. Some features I plan on adding includes: secure(crypto) private messaging, contacts lists, eventually turning the chatroom into a merger sites with different hubs for different topics or private/personal hubs(so group chats essentially). And of course a dark mode. Things like image, emoji, or file upload support could be added in the far future but as of right now they are not too much of a priority. So just go to the link, try stuff out, give me some feedback and tell me what to think. I'll eventually add the source code on github/gitlab/gitcenter once I get a good base version of the chatroom but until then I'll be sole developer. Email me at zeromail: akalai@zeroid.bit Nodis Chat:

Russia Is Targeting Europe’s Elections. So Are Far-Right Copycats.

"In 2016, an Italian website called I’m With Putin appeared, promoting pro-Russian news and criticism of the West. That now-defunct site shared a Google tracking account with the official campaign website of Matteo Salvini, the far-right deputy prime minister and Italy’s most powerful politician." “The Kremlin has empowered and amplified other venal and anti-democratic actors to grow their influence in Europe, creating a snowball effect for its anti-Western agenda,” a European Union task force said in one of its recent summaries of Russian disinformation. One example: Websites promoting what appear to be two local German anti-fascist groups, Antifa West Berlin and Antifa Nord Ost, share a server used by Russian government hackers who attacked the Democratic National Committee during the 2016 election. The registration information for one of the German sites includes an anonymized email address that was also used to set up a pair of Russian spearphishing sites." "This month, these two websites prodded thousands of Twitter followers to attend an anti-AfD rally in Berlin. The murky combination of anonymous online content and in-the-street action is reminiscent of 2016, when Russian groups pushed people in the United States to attend rallies claiming to support both Black Lives Matter and the police." "A definitive attribution would require the kind of tools that the American government used to reveal the 2016 interference. Twitter said the accounts do not currently violate its policies. Neither of the anti-fascist groups responded to questions about their sites." Source:

Tried to write a new blogging platform for ZeroNet

Hello everyone. I stumbled upon ZeroNet a couple of weeks ago and I started writing a blogging platform trying to understand how it works. Anyway, I 've ended up with more questions than answers, but stabilizing the platform with stick and glue, I have come to a first crude result. If you want to check it out, you can find it here: I intend to work more on it and add some more features, the lack of which at the moment is obvious. Would like to hear some thoughts Thank you

Is using Tor Browser really safer on ZeroNet ?

I just checked and apparently ZeroNet can't work without JavaScript so NoScript has to be disabled, and I doubt there is any use for HTTPS Everywhere for ZeroNet considering the server is on localhost. So basically, is having a common user agent for Tor service users worth letting every single script enabled instead of, say, having a Waterfox with privacy settings activated along with a few extensions to block specific tracking stuff. Or, considering it's unwise to install extensions on Tor Browser because that would make your track easy to identify, why not just install these extensions to block specific stuff on Tor Browser considering you shouldn't worry about specific method to find out who you are when scripts are enabled anyways ? TL;DR, is using Tor Browser with Tor enabled really important on ZeroNet / good enough to feel safe ?

Why is globalism a problem ?

Why is globalism a problem? The goal of globalization is the "denaturation of man for the benefit of an undifferentiated planetary man." From Ignatius of Loyola, to Jacob Frank, to Claude Henri de Rouvroy (Count of Saint-Simon), to all the excited leftists of the last 230 years*, to the theosophists, to all the new-age currents of the 20th century, and now to the Social Justice Warrior movement, madness only passes from hand to hand. But it's still the same madness. It is well beyond some masonic trends and groups or even purely jewish cabalistic movements. What amazes me when I read all these people, and I first realized this when I read Loyola and Jacob Frank, is that the words and even the articulation of the words between them are the same and yet time separates them. This proves that madness has something fundamentally UNIQUE about it. This is something that psychiatrists are well aware of, even if they develop categories in the manifestations of their patients, they know very well that "madness is ONE". Conspiracy circles mistake themselves to understand this. And that's also why they're going into the theories of a localized plot. Reality is quite different, evil, as religious call it; is, and has always been, THE MADNESS. This madness is not specific to humans, but is found in all other animal species. * a good book on left-wing freaks is: Fire in the Minds of Men by James H. Billington https://archive.org/details/fireinthemindsofmen2/page/n3 to understand that all the so-called revolutionary movements of the 230 years are the origin of a few enlightened (illuminated illuminati) people, as these people like to call themselves: pure madness, but there is really nothing we can't do, everyone's nature is quick to madness, MORE FOR SOME THAN OTHERS.

Breaking News! Leaked Joe Biden Cartoon Series To Be Aired On Cable This is a Zeronet Exclusive! An insider at the Joe Biden campaign has leaked the following cartoon trailer of a new children's cartoon series that they plan on airing on cable TV in the fall season. They said they are in ongoing negotiations with several different cable outlets. Many have said that they are very interested in airing this cartoon series before the 2020 election. I contacted the Joe Biden campaign about this cartoon trailer and they declined to make any comment about this at this time. The leaker said that they have already made several episodes ready to be aired. Joe Biden campaign staff said in a memo that this cartoon will make a strong connection with the young Democratic voter base and will promote positive family values. This is also part of the Democrats, "Joe Biden, touched me!" Campaign slogan, that is also part of the me to movement on Twitter. Promoting stronger family values. Note: Some content may be copyrighted. This is being released as fair use. You can find more about Joe Biden presidential campaign at his official site at https://joebiden.info/ Please feel free to copy and redistribute this Zeronet News exclusive on all News media websites and social media platforms.

It would seem Firefox doesn't handle ES6 classes anymore ?

Here's the zite I'm talking about: If you test it on Chrome / Chromium ( I tested it on Brave and Dissenter ), it works perfectly. However, if you test it on Firefox ( I tested it on Tor Browser, Waterfox and Firefox, the last two are fresh installs ), nothing works anymore. You can't select an user, nothing. Now if I go in the console, it would seem Firefox doesn't handle ES6 Classes, which is weird because it should be supporting them since the version 45 released in 2016: https://caniuse.com/#feat=es6-class Now here are my two problems: 1. ZeroChat uses ES6 Classes, infact the Zite I gave you is built using ZeroChat's base code, meaning that if my assumption is right, the ONLY tutorial we have to create a Zite doesn't work for Firefox "anymore". 2. How does one fix this, for example with the Zite I gave ? Or is maybe the error coming from somewhere else ? But there again, I doubt it's coming from the code, since Chromium browsers handle it perfectly.

Can someone with expertise in Firefox/Chrome plugins develop a URL rewriter?

I don't think it might be too difficult as it poses no security threat or uses excessively complicated coding. The only thing I would like it to do is to name the protocol in the place of the IP/Port of the localhost HTTP server. Example: My webzite that happens to be []( would become just [zero://1ZGagD38ypjSoUrpNEGaPFmAMKFcdud7C](/1ZGagD38ypjSoUrpNEGaPFmAMKFcdud7C). It is actually not that useful as it would be just for esthetic purposes. ### From a Reply: Another suggestion would be to call it ``zap://`` instead of ``zero://``, as being the acronym to *Zeronet Access Protocol*. Other options can be ``zhttp://``, ``httpz://``, ``zw://``(*zeroweb*), ``zwap://``(*Zeronet Web Access Protocol*), etc...](

ShareTube Project

Just took another YouTube Clone to make my own version of a video sharing and broadcasting site. Feel free to comment and ask for "stuff". [ShareTube](/1Share3xUeAF71KTqcvFyfDu516kNDETx/) Every suggestion is welcome as well as if anyone wishes to contribute with suggested pieces of code, images and icons. Update: Justifying the ad and donation unit: I intend to put work in this website, and if anyone wishes to contribute with a "cup of coffee" worth of donations or getting a couple dollars by ad income, it improves my morale and gives me a stronger desire to improve. And don't worry. I am not going to abuse users by overflowing the interface with ads or mining scripts. You can all state any objection here and if I find merit I act upon it.

Newbie Gives Impressions of ZeroNet

"ZeroNet and the Future of the Internet" ---->

Here's our new Zite, ZeroDox ! For those of you who don't know the history of Doxbin, here's a small sum-up: - First Doxbin was created a few years ago, it was a website where one could post a dox of someone. - A Dox is a gathering of informations about someone. It is mostly publised against the doxed person's will. It has various uses, one being the infamous 4chan pizza bombing. - The website was closed, iirc it was raided. - We later have a new Doxbin on the DarkNet. Raided again. - We, again later, got a new Doxbin on the clearnet, of course heavily moderated, not much you can do with it. And now there's a DoxBin on ZeroNet. Spams will be deleted but other than that as long as users that wanna post a dox containing weird stuff post it in the "Weird" category, everything should go fine. Also, AFAIK, it's the first DoxBin to allow publishing files, such as images / videos. I hope it will be well received, if there's any question/request/discussion needed, don't hesitate to ask in this thread. - UnVengeurParmiDAutres, uvpda@zeroid.bit.

The Gentleman’s Guide To Forum Disruption

Copied from here (Clearnet link): https://ritholtz.com/2012/11/the-gentlemans-guide-to-forum-disruption/ ##COINTELPRO Techniques for Dilution, Misdirection and Control of an Internet Forum We have repeatedly addressed the topic of disruption of logical debate on the Internet. An anonymous writer posted an important new report on disruption at Pastebin. It is in the style of a leaked law enforcement memo, although we cannot vouch for its authenticity as a document produced by a whistleblower. However, we have seen these techniques repeatedly used to disrupt Internet debate, and so – even if only copying the style of a real memo – it contains valuable information which all web user should know. There are several techniques for the control and manipulation of a internet forum no matter what, or who is on it. We will go over each technique and demonstrate that only a minimal number of operatives can be used to eventually and effectively gain a control of a ‘uncontrolled forum.’ ##Technique #1 – ‘FORUM SLIDING’ If a very sensitive posting of a critical nature has been posted on a forum – it can be quickly removed from public view by ‘forum sliding.’ In this technique a number of unrelated posts are quietly prepositioned on the forum and allowed to ‘age.’ Each of these misdirectional forum postings can then be called upon at will to trigger a ‘forum slide.’ The second requirement is that several fake accounts exist, which can be called upon, to ensure that this technique is not exposed to the public. To trigger a ‘forum slide’ and ‘flush’ the critical post out of public view it is simply a matter of logging into each account both real and fake and then ‘replying’ to prepositined postings with a simple 1 or 2 line comment. This brings the unrelated postings to the top of the forum list, and the critical posting ‘slides’ down the front page, and quickly out of public view. Although it is difficult or impossible to censor the posting it is now lost in a sea of unrelated and unuseful postings. By this means it becomes effective to keep the readers of the forum reading unrelated and non-issue items. ##Technique #2 – ‘CONSENSUS CRACKING’ A second highly effective technique (which you can see in operation all the time at www.abovetopsecret.com) is ‘consensus cracking.’ To develop a consensus crack, the following technique is used. Under the guise of a fake account a posting is made which looks legitimate and is towards the truth is made – but the critical point is that it has a VERY WEAK PREMISE without substantive proof to back the posting. Once this is done then under alternative fake accounts a very strong position in your favour is slowly introduced over the life of the posting. It is IMPERATIVE that both sides are initially presented, so the uninformed reader cannot determine which side is the truth. As postings and replies are made the stronger ‘evidence’ or disinformation in your favour is slowly ‘seeded in.’ Thus the uninformed reader will most like develop the same position as you, and if their position is against you their opposition to your posting will be most likely dropped. However in some cases where the forum members are highly educated and can counter your disinformation with real facts and linked postings, you can then ‘abort’ the consensus cracking by initiating a ‘forum slide.’ ##Technique #3 – ‘TOPIC DILUTION’ Topic dilution is not only effective in forum sliding it is also very useful in keeping the forum readers on unrelated and non-productive issues. This is a critical and useful technique to cause a ‘RESOURCE BURN.’ By implementing continual and non-related postings that distract and disrupt (trolling ) the forum readers they are more effectively stopped from anything of any real productivity. If the intensity of gradual dilution is intense enough, the readers will effectively stop researching and simply slip into a ‘gossip mode.’ In this state they can be more easily misdirected away from facts towards uninformed conjecture and opinion. The less informed they are the more effective and easy it becomes to control the entire group in the direction that you would desire the group to go in. It must be stressed that a proper assessment of the psychological capabilities and levels of education is first determined of the group to determine at what level to ‘drive in the wedge.’ By being too far off topic too quickly it may trigger censorship by a forum moderator. ##Technique #4 – ‘INFORMATION COLLECTION’ Information collection is also a very effective method to determine the psychological level of the forum members, and to gather intelligence that can be used against them. In this technique in a light and positive environment a ‘show you mine so me yours’ posting is initiated. From the number of replies and the answers that are provided much statistical information can be gathered. An example is to post your ‘favourite weapon’ and then encourage other members of the forum to showcase what they have. In this matter it can be determined by reverse proration what percentage of the forum community owns a firearm, and or a illegal weapon. This same method can be used by posing as one of the form members and posting your favourite ‘technique of operation.’ From the replies various methods that the group utilizes can be studied and effective methods developed to stop them from their activities. ##Technique #5 – ‘ANGER TROLLING’ Statistically, there is always a percentage of the forum posters who are more inclined to violence. In order to determine who these individuals are, it is a requirement to present a image to the forum to deliberately incite a strong psychological reaction. From this the most violent in the group can be effectively singled out for reverse IP location and possibly local enforcement tracking. To accomplish this only requires posting a link to a video depicting a local police officer massively abusing his power against a very innocent individual. Statistically of the million or so police officers in America there is always one or two being caught abusing there powers and the taping of the activity can be then used for intelligence gathering purposes – without the requirement to ‘stage’ a fake abuse video. This method is extremely effective, and the more so the more abusive the video can be made to look. Sometimes it is useful to ‘lead’ the forum by replying to your own posting with your own statement of violent intent, and that you ‘do not care what the authorities think!!’ inflammation. By doing this and showing no fear it may be more effective in getting the more silent and self-disciplined violent intent members of the forum to slip and post their real intentions. This can be used later in a court of law during prosecution. ##Technique #6 – ‘GAINING FULL CONTROL’ It is important to also be harvesting and continually maneuvering for a forum moderator position. Once this position is obtained, the forum can then be effectively and quietly controlled by deleting unfavourable postings – and one can eventually steer the forum into complete failure and lack of interest by the general public. This is the ‘ultimate victory’ as the forum is no longer participated with by the general public and no longer useful in maintaining their freedoms. Depending on the level of control you can obtain, you can deliberately steer a forum into defeat by censoring postings, deleting memberships, flooding, and or accidentally taking the forum offline. By this method the forum can be quickly killed. However it is not always in the interest to kill a forum as it can be converted into a ‘honey pot’ gathering center to collect and misdirect newcomers and from this point be completely used for your control for your agenda purposes. ##CONCLUSION Remember these techniques are only effective if the forum participants DO NOT KNOW ABOUT THEM. Once they are aware of these techniques the operation can completely fail, and the forum can become uncontrolled. At this point other avenues must be considered such as initiating a false legal precidence to simply have the forum shut down and taken offline. This is not desirable as it then leaves the enforcement agencies unable to track the percentage of those in the population who always resist attempts for control against them. Many other techniques can be utilized and developed by the individual and as you develop further techniques of infiltration and control it is imperative to share then with HQ.

How people still don't understand what freedom is.

Freedom is about having peace, and living outside of the surrounding madness. Zeronet is a good example, it has all the attributes to keep anonymity and have fun between a group of friends. But I see all kind of brainwashed people only looking for one thing; to get the pack, the masses in. It is one of the characteristics of madness: REPRODUCING THE CAUSES AND EXPECTING DIFFERENT RESULTS. So I see madmen, clearly asking that the plebe (madness) come to destroy this community (therefore decentralized) by the mass (centralized). To those I'd say the same thing; FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU for disturbing my peace. And since you don't give a shit about me, then you'll find me in your way, always.

15 ways to respect a left-handed person.

I recently listened to a podcast that went through 50 ways world can be less hostile to fat people. Since it was so interesting, I made my own list on how to communicate and respect left-handed people. 1. Don't mention it: "Oh you're a lefty" is incredibly damaging, as it triggers PTSD for centuries of falling prey to right-handed oppression. 2. If you are buttering a half slice of a loaf to give a left-handed person, remember to apply the spread to the correct side of the bread. 3. Stop trying to teach a lefty that they can write, wash their teeth, or wipe their ass with the right hand if they just practiced enough. That's incredibly patronizing and offending. 4. I am not ambidextrous, don't expect me to be able to use the knife while I am forking. 5. Don't automatically assume left-handed people are artistic or smart. We most likely aren't. And that's ableist, and offending. 6. Don't tie our left hand behind our back to "teach us to use the right hand". We had that for decades. It wasn't fun. 7. A lefty isn't the Devil's spawn. Fairy-tales have nothing to do with a person being left-handed or not... If you belong to that other religion, please feel free to dis-regard this advice. 8. Write in Arabic... Or, hell just convert to Islam and force everyone to write in Arabic. That way the world of left handed writers don't have to worry about getting their hands full of ink. Islam will do the heavy lifting in enforcing left handed writing for you. 9. Learn to handshake with your left hand. 10. Tell your lefty kid about left-handed heroes; musicians like Paul McCartney and Jimi Hendrix, actors like Whoopi Godlberg and Tom Cruise and other famous left-handers to build their confidence and self-esteem. 11. Remeber the Left Handers' Day on 8/13, don't forget it. It would be demeaning to all the left-handed people around you. 12. Left-handed people are a minority, and they are owed reparations for all the cruelty that's been done to them in the name of right-handedness. 13. Give us room when we are eating, you keep elbowing us, that's Oppression. (courtesy of [quantumworld](#comment_413_1AdWXZdPUimpXoGNXUBde2CHR7gLf4onxE)) 14. Left-handedness is a disability. Lefties should be eligible for social security benefits for it. 15. Disagree with any of these points and you are an ableist bigot, probably even a sexist and a racist Nazi too.

Is OK if i update zeronet site optional files manually, not via zeronet?

Hello, i have two zeronet devices, later one has selected option to help download all optional files for certain sites. Can i copy all the sites from later one to earlier one? I will not do any replacement, it will only add some additional files (partial or complete). Will the destination zeronet somehow automatically recognize new files/fileparts? What to do or what not? Do i have to stop destination zeronet, do i need to "Check files" button for all the sites? Will destination zeronet "acknowledge" the newly added files? - - - when i added the optional files to the merger site called "IFS cluster", and selected to "Check files" for that site, it discovered new files and show them on ZeroHello?files tab. I am thinking maybe zeronet would also automatically discover new files during restart?

How to create a thumbnail ?

Hi, I'm creating a Zite but I have no idea on how to create a thumbnail. This is important because if I have to display the images in smaller version instead of thumbnails, the images will be downloaded and since there will be a lot, it will weight a lot, making the "optional" side of these images kind of useless. So how could I do that ?

KxoBlock is a new zite for sharing and collaborating on Blocklists. You can easily create blocklists for zites, users, or both. The interface allows easily adding and removing a blocked item. When adding a user or zite, you will get an autocomplete to allow for easier finding of users or zites that you want to block - this only works if CORS has been accepted for ZeroId, ZeroSites, KxoNetwork, and Important Zites. (currently unimplemented) When you view another's blocklist - you can enable it so that the items on that list are blocked for your client. When the list is updated, the new items will also be blocked by your client. You can follow a blocklist to get a notification in the ZeroHello NewsFeed on when the list was updated. (currently unimplemented) If you don't want to use the whole list, just specific items from the list, you can click on an item and either mute that user or add the item to one of your own blocklists. Finally, in a future update, there will be an area where users of a blocklist can request to the blocklist owner that items be added to the list. The blocklist owner will be able to go through these and click to accept or reject - making changes when needed if accepting. Remember that not all features have been implemented yet, and that this zite is still in Alpha. You can report bugs here. Below are some more screenshots of how the zite looks.

Subtractive fairness is not fair

If your rights get trampled on, don't ask why someone else's rights don't get trampled on for a similar offense. Argue that when your rights get trampled on it opens the doors for other people, even people you do not agree with, to have their rights trampled on. So instead of asking why another person besides yourself doesn't get kicked off a platform, why not argue that their rights will eventually be at stake as well? Do not be an enabler for subtracting rights.

Py3 branch running on Android with tor always enabled from source code.

Just set up the Py3 branch with tor always enabled. Every looks like it's working fine (very impressive work btw). Here is an overview of how to do it if anyone wants to replicate this. It presumes you know how to use Termux/Command line commands and all that but is fairly basic. - Install Termux (from F-Droid is best but use either Play Store or F-Droid. Don't mix up the packages as they have different signatures). - Setup [Termux storage](https://wiki.termux.com/wiki/Termux-setup-storage) -Clearnet link. ```termux-setup-storage``` - Open Termux and make sure you're in Home Directory (```cd ~```) - Install git in Termux. ```pkg install git``` - Git Clone Python 3 branch of ZeroNet. ``` git clone --branch py3 https://github.com/HelloZeroNet/ZeroNet.git``` - Change directory into folder created. ```cd ZeroNet``` ***Install various requirements and dependencies.*** (If you don't install these you get errors when you pip install requiresments.txt later). - Install Python 3. ```pkg install python``` - Install Python 3 dev tools ```pkg install python-dev``` - Install libffi-dev (coincurve needs it when importing the requirements for ZeroNet). ```pkg install libffi-dev``` - Install pkg-config (again, coincurve needs it). ```pkg install pkg-config``` - Install make, clang, curl, and various other libraries. Using apt-get here rather than pkg as I'm not sure whether you can chain installs with pkg or not (it's a Termux wrapper for apt-get). ```bash apt-get -y update && apt-get -y upgrade apt install clang -y apt-get install -y curl make clang grep c-ares-dev libev-dev openssl-tool ``` ***Pull in official requirements.txt dependencies from the ZeroNet package.*** - Run the following command. It will take a while ```python -m pip install -r requirements.txt``` ***Set up Tor (Optional)*** - Install Tor ```pkg install Tor``` - Edit torrc file. Move to the tor directory. ```cd ../usr/etc/tor``` - List folder just to make sure you're in the right place. You should only see 'torrc'. ```ls``` - Presuming you're in the right place and can see torrc, edit it, removing the # from in front of ControlPort 9051 (line 51 for me) AND 'CookieAuthentication 1'a few lines below. ```vi torrc``` I'm going to presume you know how to edit a file in vi. Download nano (```pkg install nano``` then ```nano torrc```)if not. - Presuming you've saved the file now go back to home. ```cd ~``` - You can now run Tor in Termux. ```tor``` - Open a new console tab (swipe from left). Click 'New Session'. ***Start ZeroNet in New Session*** - Move into ZeroNet folder created earlier (you should automatically be in the home folder, ```cd ~``` if not). ```cd ZeroNet``` - Run ZeroNet. ```python zeronet.py``` You should now be able to access from your browser and see ZeroNet working. You can go in and switch it to tor always if you want. You can monitor both ZeroNet and Tor in Termux to see what's going on. ***One concern*** I have with this way of getting it running is that I don't have to change the user of the Tor Authentication Cookie. I think it's because I'm running both ZeroNet and Tor as the sandboxed Termux user but haven't double checked. Anyway, if you want to find the cookie it's in ~/.tor whilst Tor is running. Everything connects ok so I don't think this is a functional problem but perhaps it would be a security concern. I'll leave it to more knowledgeable people than myself to work that out. Anyway, amazing work with this Py3 branch. I'm so impressed. I thought I was going to have issues getting it all running but it took way less time than it did to write this post. Here is the official clearnet link to the Py3 branch. You can see I've just modified the install from source instructions:

Is Zeronet ready for mass market?

I'm just exploring Zeronet at the moment, looking into it as an option for the web going forwards (because of all the problems with centralization etc.). I was just wondering, what's the general consensus with trying to pull the general public into Zeronet. Any scaleability issues? Security issues? Anything like that? I know there is still a lot to do but from what I can see so far a 'killer app' of some sort could make the ZeroNet community skyrocket. Putting a wrapper around ZeroMe and making it a click and go mobile app of some sort could be the sort of thing that pulls in millions. What would be the potential drawbacks? Am I missing anything? As I say I'm new to this and just testing everything out but would be interested to hear what everyone's views are.

Spaces of critique

Cultural critique exists in spaces that have not yet been consumed by the object of critique: virtual reality and the internet were once feverishly talked about by cyber-cultural theorists even through most of the 90s, as these were spaces not yet taken over by state or global interests, and so critiques of power structures could be safely be made from within them. Obviously this is not the case, as the internet is an apparatus of the state and of state corporations; critiques made on the internet are now highly scrutinized by the corporate media, and in many countries they are actually policed by law enforcement. Virtual reality is subsumed by marketing--we're treated to watching a cartoon of Mark Zuckerberg in a simulated, disaster-struck Puerto Rico. But like any medium, it is content-agnostic, and while critiques can be printed in books, those books exist in separate space, often times obeying separate laws of publication, or rather refusing to obey laws of publication at all. For the medium of the internet to serve as a medium of critique, there must be separate spaces that are absolutely independent of the state/corporate internet. I remember last year we had fun mapping ZeroNet but pinpointing user locations on the globe: the map of ZeroNet essentially fits "within" the map of the internet proper; it is a space within the medium. I believe maps are a very useful tool for visualizing critical spaces: the internet as a concept has been so thoroughly warped by external power structures that it can no longer be "mapped" as a medium, but rather as spaces with different functions and forms. In this way, ZeroNet is not the final solution to centralized internet, but rather a hint of what is to come later: non-interacting networks created as-needed, functioning as spaces for operations which cannot be permitted on the Clearnet.

Hotlinking images from other zites

Hello, how can i ensure my zite visitor will see "embeded" images on my site while these images address will be other zite address? I mean such embeded images will not load in case the visitor not visited that site on which these are hosted. Is it sufficient to invite my site visitor to first visit the site from which i will be linking the images? The images are optional on that site, so will not be downloaded upon home page visit. Will ZN download them automaticaly when "hot-linked"? Or other way - can i add an iframe to my zite, which will automatically load also other zite or the image in iframe?

[PSA] Trouble with "TOR:ERROR" on ubuntu after running zeronet (py3)

I've recently switched to the python3 branch for zeronet, but I had trouble getting tor to connect on ubuntu 19.04. Here's the steps I took to get it to work, in case anyone in the future has issues. * Make sure tor is installed (apt-get tor) * Use the configuration settings from: http://localhost:43110/Talk.ZeroNetwork.bit/?Topic:1546815090_1L4dZcDF2maSKHDy788yhxpYnBWnXadUtS * adding your username to the debian-tor group does allow you to read it but you will keep getting read errors unless you add yourself to the group then log out. It was news to me that group changes don't take place until the user logs out then in. Anyways, happy to have more peers, just figured I'd share.

I really like the tecnology behinf zeronet but....

I think the technology behind ZeroNet is great, I mean a web that can go through bluetooth or even radio, in catastrophic like situation it would be great. I am also a big fan og how torrents work. ZerNet is simply great and I like the fact that it is made so that it is impossible to censure and so on. I think it is doublefaced...... I think, how long does it take until here it will be all only about revenge porn and pedofilia. I think the git maintainers should made a COC or something like that. In some years we will be in the media as the strange people that use ZeroNet. It will be like in the country I live, where you have perfect acess to the internet and information but the police is going school to school talking about "what horrible place the depp web is and all is only drug and weapons" (not saying that it isn't, but it's the concept that you are making fright). What do you think, how can we improve it, should we open a issue on github?

Censored Youtube

What do you think about creating censored Youtube? I don't think I want to see porn when I visit a site to watch non-porn videos. And what's wrong with its previews? I can't even upload one.

Lost ZeroBit ID whilst trying to use 'Multiuser' plugin?

I enabled the Multiuser plugin in Zeronet and went to ZeroID to get a new ID. It registered the user on the zite but I didn't get the credentials. Did I do something wrong or is this a glitch? I'm just playing around with Zeronet at the moment so it could be simple user error. No record of the new user ID exists in user.json so I'm not quite sure what happened. Obviously this user ID registered fine (when not using the multiuser plugin).

Git Center - an alternative to GitHub

# Git Center - GitHub for ZeroNet **Git Center** is a decentralized hosting platform for Git repositories. We provide several collaboration features such as bug tracking for every project, and private and public repositories. ## Why Git Center? Currently **Git Center** is the only repository hosting in ZeroNet. This is like 0git, but better: a full alternative to GitHub. ## Cool! How can I access it? Hey I have an I idea

Hey I have an idea. Youtubes shit right? well why dont we make a program.. of our own and make it take videos from the archive of youtube... so that we can rank are own videos with our own algorithm on our own program the way we want it not the way Google wants it all while its taking videos off of the main site.. and also make it so the main sites algorithm dosnt know what we are looking at because we can code our program algorithm to look random to the main sites algorithm..... who ever knows how to code please do this I will support anyone who makes this with real intent.

Upgrade from one ZeroTalk clone to other not added a "Settings" function into the blog sidebar

I upgraded my blog from @binchan2 ZeroBlog Plus to from @geekless ZeroBlog++ by editing my blog content.json and setting clonned_from to be geekless blog address. Then i manually backed up my site folder (because upgrade is known to replace some files deleting any modification in index.html and such). Then i ran Upgrade from within ZeroHello site list, three dots menu next to my site. My blog sidebar was missing Settings button which is the feature of the destination ZeroBlog++. Here is what i did in order to manually fix it. But please read on because i think this is a BUG in upgrade process and should not happen. - I tried to copy index.html from geekless blog, Settings button appeared and redirects to ?Settings:main, but it just show my blog index, like the function is not working. - data-default/settings.json was missing, so i copied it over, but not helped - data/settings.json was also missing in my blog, so i copied it also over from geekless blog, then Settings page asked me read permission to ZeroMe user registry which i granted. - upon index page reload, it asked me Millchan permission, i granted. **Settings page shows blank content** - after replacing css/all.css by one from original geekless blog, and doing Ctrl+F5 to reload Settings page, it started to show correctly, but unticking some option (hiding header image, hide it, but on reloading page, it is back there), i think it is still missing some files because zeronet failed to replace some file..? UPDATE: i think problem was in missing part of the database, because when i copied file **dbschema.json** from zeroblog++ to mysiteaddress/dbschema.json (replace) and did **rebuild and reload** command in my site's (0) menu (corner button), then onsite changes in Settings section **started to be saved 👍** (in db?). --> i do not know why this happened, it seems to me like a bug that Uprade not replaced all files / dbschema.json file and then reload/rebuild db? @nofish

The problem with education nowadays

Reading To which I replied: the younger generations are deeply uneducated and have had no proper historical education. In addition, textbooks are increasingly a Masonic universalist new-age soup, in which there is no historical opposition. as if history is the land of the teddy bears. People I think are waking up from a torpor of several decades where they had been put to sleep, with "everything is fine".

Are tor users able to access only tor zites?

Hello all. This is my first question here and I have been on zeronet for a couple of days only. I have been using zeronet with tor through tor browser till now, and i have started setting a personal blog in here. However i have read in a redit post, a comment i haven't been able to verify. According to it, zites that are seeded by tor users in zeronet, can only be accessed by other zeronet users that also use tor. Is this true? I mean, if i set up my site, the only ones that can read it are the people that use tor or have i terribly misunderstood the reddit comment? Anyway, thanks for your time

License Offenders Blocklist

This is a voluntary blocklist for zites that offend the License of zites they have cloned or used source code from. It applies to: * Clones/Forks to zites which use a copyleft license (including MPL, GPL, etc.), but do not use the same license * Zites that do not follow the restrictions of the zite they fork/clone/use source code from (examples of restrictions include "Include Original Source", "Include Copyright", "Give Credit", etc.) * Proprietary zites which have **explicitly** given me a complaint about the offending zite. Zites that offend Licenses will be placed under a notice for 7 days. After the 7 days are up and the zite is still offending, the zite will be added to the Blocklist. **Since the majority of Zites probably don't follow any of the rules yet, this Blocklist will not go into effect until May 17th.**

Video files are marked as optional, while playlist is not.

0net sites running on non-free/libre js?

I'm making a blocklist for these, so if you know any, please let me know (i really don't want to publish one-site blocklist and i'm pretty sure there should be more). "Nonfree" means, of course, code not under a free/libre/open-source software license (and not in public domain). This is not always trivial to spot, so in some cases asking site owner might be required for clarification. Sites with trivial code (oneliners and such) without license are exempted. Sites that load and use nonfree js only optionally **and** give an appropriate warning before doing so won't be on this list as well. The list is also not intended for sites with mining scripts or outright malware, there seems to be enough blocklists for those. **update**: the list is now [here](/1NbHaHHyiXpTgSpaRW5VgpvuJsSBSSmbLG/), but still waiting for additions

# [StreamZ](/1BTZh5pymEKzMYr3qgDtgr4dMmap77QvEs) Hello, ZeroNet community! Today @glightstar, @zerolstn, @krixano and me are introducing [StreamZ](/1BTZh5pymEKzMYr3qgDtgr4dMmap77QvEs), a revolutionary live-streaming service for ZeroNet! 1. You need to install **PeerMessage plugin** to send/receive the stream 2. **Recording works on Chrome and Firefox.** Other browsers that support MediaRecorder should work as well (i.e. Opera and Safari Technology Preview, according to caniuse). 3. You can use *Python 2* version of ZeroNet if you are only going to watch videos. If you also want to record them or use chat, you need the **latest** *Python 3* version of ZeroNet, that you can download on [GitHub](https://github.com/HelloZeroNet/ZeroNet). If you have any problems on the installation step, or StreamZ itself bugs, ask me in the comments. Is using cryptocurrencies more secure than online banking?

Paying by bankcards online gives away enough data to gain access to all your money stored in your account. Okay maybe just up to your daily maximum spending limit if you have set some. So it sounds more dangerous to me than by paying with BitCoin or some other cryptocurrencies where you can loose at most the transferred amount. Am I wrong about this?

Can we convert the Python implementation of CJDNS into a ZeroNet plugin, pre-packaged?

The Python implementation needs a new maintainer. If we can do this, just know that virtually nobody will manually install it. You should try getting it into ZeroNet with a pull request, so then it's widely adopted.

Important Information about Security Update Rev3616

On 27th of September, a critical flaw was discovered in ZeroNet's iframe sandbox by Git Center, ZeroLSTN, and Krixano. It is currently believed to be actively exploited, and thus all users are encouraged to update to the latest version of ZeroNet right away. Details are in the latest ZeroBlog update post. Full details are being held back while we give clients a change to update. In a week or so, a PoC and full description of the vulnerability will be released.

Terminology: Merger site | Merged site | hub site

@Krixano in [this post](/1TaLkFrMwvbNsooF4ioKAY9EuxTBTjipT/?Topic:1553138703_12gAes6NzDS9E2q6Q1UXrpUdbPS6nvuBPu#comment_753_12gAes6NzDS9E2q6Q1UXrpUdbPS6nvuBPu) mentioned that the merger site, merged site, hub (site) is the same thing. Before that i thought that merger site is a site that is merging sites called hubs. For example @mcdev [here](/1TaLkFrMwvbNsooF4ioKAY9EuxTBTjipT/?Topic:1548974921_18S47ArorYtHtcicjdGi6VZdhgJgwhrud7) is calling his site Millchan Engine a "merger site", which seems in collision with Krixano understanding. [ZeroFrame API Reference here](/1DocsYf2tZVVMEMJFHiDsppmFicZCWkVv1/site_development/zeroframe_api_reference/#plugin-mergersite) says: "mergerSiteAdd - Start downloading new **merger** site(s)." "mergerSiteDelete - Stop seeding and delete a **merged** site." from that i assume that zeronet developer/s (who may not be native english speaker) using words merger & merged for a hub, same as Krixano says. So how to call a site that is "[merging](https://www.oxfordlearnersdictionaries.com/definition/english/merger?q=merger)"/utilizing hubs if not a merger/merging site? @krixano @gitcenter - - - - - My ideas on naming: merger parent site merger child site merger site merger sub-site

Feedback for KxoVid

I'm working on KxoVid again. I'm already aware of KxoVid problems with Icons in Tor Browser (and some proxies apparently, although not all, which makes me suspect it's a proxy issue). I also am already planning on adding Playlists, Watch Later, Likes, Thumbnails, a better homepage design, Asciinema support, and improving the Chromecasting feature. I would like to get Feedback for anything else that users may want or need, including Bugs and Features.

ZeroNet bug: incorrect language variable expansion in GET request

@nofish Several Zites, including ZeroHello and ZeroTalk, perform the following GET request (or similar, the problem is the same): `{lang}` That is, with `lang={lang}`. Modern web browsers send curly brackets in GET parameter value unquoted, while some parsers (Java) do not expect that. Is that non-expanded variable a bug or a feature? Could it be fixed?{lang}`

Shock, prayers around the world for Notre Dame Cathedral

http://www.chinadaily.com.cn/a/201904/16/WS5cb52cafa3104842260b6612.html A massive fire engulfed the upper reaches of Paris' soaring Notre Dame Cathedral as it was undergoing renovations Monday, threatening one of the greatest architectural treasures of the Western world. ![](http://img2.chinadaily.com.cn/images/201904/16/5cb54202a3104842e4a8c2b6.jpeg) The world reacted with shock, horror and prayers to the massive fire, united in grief and in solidarity with the people of France. Trump offers unsolicited advice on fighting Notre Dame fire US President Donald Trump assessed the response from 4,000 miles away and offered unsolicited advice for firefighters trying to save Paris' Notre Dame cathedral. "Perhaps flying water tankers could be used to put it out," Trump tweeted from Air Force One, minutes before landing in Minnesota for a Tax Day speech. "Must act quickly!" Trump's armchair observations were striking, even for a president who seems to offer an opinion about just about everything.

File rename/move detection?

I wonder if there's such a feature in 0net. The idea is that when a file is moved/renamed with intact content, it should not be re-downloaded by everyone; of course, this is mostly important for big files. Specifically, i need this to be able to post files before i'm sure what name should they have in the end. If there isn't such a feature (or request) already, i'm going to make a feature request myself. **EDIT**: the [gh issue](https://github.com/HelloZeroNet/ZeroNet/issues/1318) is open and haven't received any attention; [0talk thread]( suggests this is not implemented **EDIT2**: [HelloZeroNet commented 38 minutes ago](https://github.com/HelloZeroNet/ZeroNet/issues/1318#issuecomment-483732730) > Not yet, but just started working on it.

Redesigning Social Media in a way that Promotes Mental Wellbeing

Something I've been thinking about lately. Now that we're literally building the internet from scratch here on ZeroNet, we have the opportunity to learn from the mistakes of the clearnet. Could we design better social media? A kind of social media that leads to greater levels of wellbeing, rather than envy, hostility and mistrust? e.g. Studies have shown that the downvote button on Reddit actually encourages toxic behavior and low-quality content. e.g. Studies have also shown that displaying follower count on Instagram encourages low self-esteem. e.g. YouTube algorithm for Recommended videos is calculated to maximize engagement.... but this means that clickbait content is given priority. At least this would give ZeroNet a valid reason to exist. But also because we don't have any financial incentives, thus less likely to be influenced by the marketing industry, etc.

ZeroNet improvements (updated 2018-12-29)

####Protocol-level compression/ file propagation - [Protocol] Ability to request X **files in bulk** from a peer as a Gzipped Tar archive (or some other format), this is useful for sites with many small files (e.g., ZeroMe, ZeroMail, ZeroTalk) - [Protocol] **Protocol level (Gzip) compression** (web servers have had Gzip-compression for years, what's holding back putting this in ZeroNet?) (Issue [#1282](https://github.com/HelloZeroNet/ZeroNet/issues/1282)) - [Protocol] Ability to add `index.html.gz` or `index.html.xz` and be accessible by `index.html` instead of having to put the file in a `.zip` or `.tar.gz`. ####Deduplication A lot of stuff is duplicated on the ZeroNet network (and on disk) because people simply copy-paste a lot of ZeroNet application code --- among other things. Here are some ideas on how to solve this problem: - [Protocol (or client-side)] To save bandwidth download files based on their hash **within a site**: instead of downloading files based on their file path download them by their file hash to prevent duplication or re-downloading when a file has been re-named (Issue [#1318](https://github.com/HelloZeroNet/ZeroNet/issues/1318)). - [Protocol] Ability to download files based on their hash **across multiple sites**, this isn't the easiest to do since it'd require a rewrite of the way ZeroNet requests files though still very possible (and should've been done at the very beginning ...) (Issues [#564](https://github.com/HelloZeroNet/ZeroNet/issues/564) and [#115](https://github.com/HelloZeroNet/ZeroNet/issues/115)) - [Client-side] Ability for users to access a file based on the hash instead of the file path, like:<hash> ####Storage - [Client-side] Small files can be stored in a SQLite database, for performance and portability reasons - [Client-side] On-disk compressed storage (for all, or some file types) - [Client-side] To reduce disk usage store files based on their hash (for later maybe) ####Partial site downloading - [Client-side] Ask what the user wants to download for each site, so you can, for example, browse a site without downloading images based on its extension (.jpg, .png). - [Client-side] Temporary downloading of the essential files required for displaying the homepage (for example) so you can decide whether you want to continue normally or leave and delete the site. Files can be kept in memory or in a temporary directory. - [Client-side] Download only the user content which changed last month, year, etc (useful for previewing dynamic sites like ZeroMe, ZeroTalk, etc) ####ZeroNet site importing/exporting - [Client-side] There's already an option for people to export already downloaded sites but no possibility for people to (easily) import exported sites, besides manually extracting to your `data` folder. - [Client-side] Ability to directly use ZIPs of exports without extracting (ZIP fully supports this) - [Client-side] Exclude `<database>.db` from export (everything will have to be verified again anyway) ####Reduce potential Spam/DDoS ZeroNet sites can be easily taken down by creating hundreds of user certs signed by whatever certificate authority the site accepts and just create as many posts as an user is allowed to create times the amount of users created. There's still no way to mitigate this and anyone can do it. I know this is a hard thing to solve but here are some methods: - [Protocol] Rate-limit the amount of new users a peer can introduce in the ZeroNet network (so you do not have a single peer that introduces thousands of new users into the network). - [Protocol] Instead of a (PoW based) certificate authority accept user certificates based on PoW (there's absolutely no reason not to give site owners that option; and there already is a `cert_signers_pattern` so why no `user_cert_pattern` ?) - [Protocol] [POW content signing (GitHub)](https://github.com/HelloZeroNet/ZeroNet/issues/1815) ####Site maintenance (low priority) - [Protocol] Add a `redirect_to` option (which replaces the current site with the site in the `redirect_to`) - ~~[Protocol] Add a `freeze_after` and `freeze_before` of a site's user content after a certain date (ZeroNet peers will reject or accept user content beyond or before a certain date).~~ Can be problematic with initial synchonization. (Issue [#1802](https://github.com/HelloZeroNet/ZeroNet/issues/1802)) ####Full-text search (low priority) - [Client-side] Either SQLite might be utilized to do Full-text search [with FTS(5)](https://sqlite.org/fts5.html) (requires it to be compiled with the `--enable-fts5` flag) or SQLite can be replace with Elastic Search (which can also be used as a database) (Somewhere in the future) ####Create Python APIs compatible with common dbschema.json files (low priority) - [Client-side] Think of dbschema.json files used by ZeroTalk, ZeroMe, ZeroBlog or whatever. This can be utilized, for example, to create non-Javascript UIs and functionality. See [this forum thread]( ####Support for ZeroNet certificate switching (low priority) - [Client-side] See issue [#1813](https://github.com/HelloZeroNet/ZeroNet/issues/1813) --- This is an incomplete and unrefined list. And please **give your feedback and own suggestions for how to improve ZeroNet and make it better for all of us.**

Moors law is about to end 2020 is next year! ReadHere.

Moors law is about to end, 2020 is next year and companies around the world are spending billions and billions of dollars to dominate what the future of our chips will be.. they are buying other companies so that they have the upper hand.... let this not happen, Intel ME is going to add artificial intelligence as a background separate OS, the problem is that it isn't the most secure Being that A you cant turn it off as in the chip, as it is always on, and B.. 2 security loopholes have already been found.. this is not old I repeat not old news this moment is going to determine the future direction of the internet and the computer revolution. Quantum Computation, 3d Stacked Chips, The long skepticized Dna data storage, Morphological Computation, Photon based chips, and more... This is very important, we must take the control of crypto away from the big banks and corps... and we must decentralize all of the internet or it may not look bright going forward. Spread this word... & Good Luck to Mans future.

How to edit comment/post on the zeronet site that does not allow editing

When one post on the zeronet site which does not feature edit button and want to edit or remove the comment, here is what to do: 1. open that site and mouse drag & drop the (0) corner button to the left to open menu 2. scroll down to find IDENTITY ADDRESS and copy it 3. scroll up and click "OPEN SITE DIRECTORY" (or open the site directory manually zeronet/data/siteaddress/) 4. once you are in that directory, go to subdirectory data/users/YOURIDENTITYADDRESS/ and check content.json and data.json files 5. you will find your text which you want to edit or delete. Before you do any modification, copy all the text in that file into clipboard (memory) and paste it to a safe place so you can restore if something go wrong!! **A) DELETING** Regarding deleting, here is example part of the data.json content: ```{ "file": {}, "comment": { "123456_abcdefgh": [ { "body": "your comment text 1", "date_added": 123456 }, { "body": "your comment text 2", "date_added": 123456 }, { "body": "your comment text 3", "date_added": 123456 } ] } }``` when you want to delete comment "your comment text 2". you will remove: ``` { "body": "your comment text 2", "date_added": 123456 }, ``` when you want to delete "your comment text 3", you will remove: ``` { "body": "your comment text 3", "date_added": 123456 } ``` Do you see the diference? comment 3 block of code does NOT end by comma "," symbol, because it is last block of code in comments section. This is important to know, because if you remove last block of code (comment 3), you have to adjust previous block code by removing ending comma "," from it turning: ``` { "file": {}, "comment": { "123456_abcdefgh": [ { "body": "your comment text 1", "date_added": 123456 }, { "body": "your comment text 2", "date_added": 123456 }, { "body": "your comment text 3", "date_added": 123456 } ] } } ``` into: ``` { "file": {}, "comment": { "123456_abcdefgh": [ { "body": "your comment text 1", "date_added": 123456 }, { "body": "your comment text 2", "date_added": 123456 } ] } } ``` (in short: making sure that after last "block" of code is not a comma ,) **B) EDITING** deleting of the comment/post is hard to explain, but editing is simple, just edit the comment text between the quotation marks. Make sure not to add any " into the text, because it may break the code i guess. 6 . Save the file and go back to the site where you do some action like a upvoting or adding new comment. Once you do that zeronet should show that it published content to several peers. It means the content.json and data.json files you have eddited should have been signed and published (including your modifications) to other peers. The modification should be visible also for you (maybe after reloading page, or rebuilding database from within site menu?).

An enhanced clone of zerotalk. Everyone can easily clone it in hello page.

--- [ZHIHU](/1Q9LrWv27gyToaqDXA2GF2ZSA6PhznX7z1/) --- # Features: - Search filed (speacial input word like `my` for all your own topics and `r` for rand showing topics) - Easily create group for everyone - Each group can have limitless small group - Support optional file (torrent|png|jpg|jpeg|gif|mp3|aac|m4a|flac|mp4|flv|webm|pdf|zip|msgpack) - Optional file can be easily attached by dragging and dropping, and the optional file is limitless. (unlike the 10MB~200MB limit for each file and 1GB limit for one user in zeroup) - For picture, music, and video, it will be embeded into your zite naturally. - For outside source (picture, music, and video), it will show a flag. - Any embed picuture, music, or video, will not be downloaded automatically. It will be downloaded only when you click it. - The embeded picture and video can be adjusted by using `![](address =width_percentx100)` like `![](address =50x100)` - Comments can be resorted by `votes`, `time`, or `emit`. - Each topic link can easily be shared when click the username under topic --- # More Features in Future. --- # Anyway, [it](/1Q9LrWv27gyToaqDXA2GF2ZSA6PhznX7z1/) can be easily cloned by everyone.

Countering the "Nothing to Hide" argument?

Many people just don't care about privacy. They prefer to use the most comfortable for them services like FB messenger and google. They keep using the same argument. And I find it pretty difficult to convince them. You have nothing to hide unless it gets found.

What are you guys doing to fight the impending surveillance state that is coming? With all the censorship that is actively happening and calls for the double edged "government regulation" that are getting louder. How are you guys protecting yourself?

Russia internet censorship of the VPN/proxy/Tor services?

What is the current status of the censorship in Russia regarding usage of the proxy services (VPN, Tor, ShadowSocks, I2P..)? [Here](https://www.privateinternetaccess.com/blog/2017/07/russia-vpn-ban-doesnt-forbid-personal-business-use-vpns/) i read: "Simply put, Russia likely plans to block the domains of VPNs and proxies that don’t comply with Russian authorities to enforce their internet censorship filter. They could accomplish this goal by adding domains such as privateinternetaccess.com to the Unified Register of Prohibited Information – where the domains of over 100 VPN services already sit – and having ISPs, telecoms, and compliant VPN services, block access to the URL. The law does not prohibit personal VPN use and doesn’t specify use of any of the DPI techniques used by the Great Firewall of China – and Putin himself has indicated earlier this year at the G20 Summit that Russia will take a separate path from China in terms of internet censorship." [2 years back, @ZAlex posted](/1MeFqFfFFGQfa1J3gJyYYUvb5Lksczq7nH/?Post/1RedkCkVaXuVXrqCMpoXQS29bwaqsuFdL/1LWuc6JBhUGrKEAh1aPrPU85dEMcKmg3pS/1492419881) following on his ZeroMe: "Roskomnadzor (the Russian Federal Agency responsible for censorship of the Internet) [asked](https://geektimes.ru/post/288166/) VPN providers to block sites that are banned in Russia." So does Russia already enforced blocking of the domestic/foreign VPN providers sites who does not want to apply russia site blacklist? How Russians circumvent/workaround their state blocklist?

Zeronet advertise zeroid.bit, zeronetwork.bit which is "single point of failure"

After nofish disappear (he does not yet at a time of writing) and his domains (zeronetwork.bit, zeroid.bit,zeronet.io...) [gets owned by a squatter & redirected](/1TaLkFrMwvbNsooF4ioKAY9EuxTBTjipT/?Topic:1516098717_1L4dZcDF2maSKHDy788yhxpYnBWnXadUtS), what will happen? Someone will fork github or gitcenter, (gitgud?) repository and register new domain (alternative to **zeronet.io**). Some people will find about this domain on clearnet groups like reddit, some will stop using zeronet because of dead zeronetwork.bit links. Those who find out about new zeronet domain will download new zeronet version which will fix ZeroHello non working zeronetwork.bit links hopefuly to real zeronet addresses.. (though zerotalk/me .bit links in sites .db's will remain causing not working links because of squatted .bit domain redirecting somewhere else). New ZN maintainer would have to create new site, possibly try to import old zerotalk db and fix the .bit links + advertise the site to new users in ZeroHello as nofish doing now. Unsure how it would be with **zeroid**.bit. During id registration it relly on some single point of failure clearnet server i think - unsure if there is a source code for everything needed. Also unsure if squatted zeroid.bit 404 would cause problems for existing users on other zites that are using this identity provider. Am i wrong in my assumptions? Sorry if this is wrong to talk about this, but it bother me that some things are not decentralized and seem to relly on one person to be constantly available @nofish @polar @polar2 @krixano @git center: @gitcenter @tangdou @pubg

What Microsoft is doing to GitHub

On the 10th of April GitHub has deleted (or, rather, isolated it from all the world) the account of @ValdikSS, the creator of GoodbyeDPI. The project is a DPI blocker, which is a really popular tool here in Russia. GitHub still hasn't answered what's going on. [You can get an explanation of how it works here (automatic translation, but should be enough to understand and use the project)](https://translate.google.com/translate?hl=&sl=auto&tl=en&u=https%3A%2F%2Fm.habr.com%2Fru%2Fpost%2F335436%2F) [The repository is mirrored on BitBucket](https://bitbucket.org/ValdikSS/goodbyedpi) [The discussion (Russian, however, our community would talk to you in English as well)](https://habr.com/ru/post/447902/) --- ValdikSS is a good contributor to ZeroNet, many people joined us because of him. I'm sure that you should support some of the projects, e.g. [here's a repo on Git Center]( **This issue should be resolved. GitHub has become evil after Microsoft bought it -- it's time to switch to something else -- GitLab, BitBucket, or, e.g. Git Center**. @nofish Microsoft has shown that it can't behave well several times -- isn't it time to switch to another git hosting? --- **It's great that we now know what's going on (see @valdikss's comment under this post). Sorry for misinformation, I wasn't sure what's going on, but I thought that this topic is important because of many people talking about it on Habr and agreeing.**

[tutorial] How to make all images, videos of my zite (zeroblog, etc.) OPTIONAL

This works possibly for all the zites. **ISSUE:** You are admin of the zeronet site and you see its size grows => New visitors is asked to increase site quota and download tens of megabytes => not good. **SOLUTION:** 1. open your zite; mouse drag & drop (0) corner button to the left to open its menu in which you click the "OPEN SITE DIRECTORY" link 2. open content.json and add following new line after for example line "modified": *, "optional": "(data/img/.*|data/vid/.*)", alternatively to exclude all particular file types, no matter in which directory they are, try: "optional": ".*webm|.*mp4|.*flv|.*jpg", 2. Sign and publish changes 3. files copied to data/img/, data/vid will no longer be force downloaded by all new site visitors but become optional (will be loaded once visitor request the page that contain them). - - - Related topic: [How to create static site with big streamable vide0s](/1TaLkFrMwvbNsooF4ioKAY9EuxTBTjipT/?Topic:1545035786_1L4dZcDF2maSKHDy788yhxpYnBWnXadUtS)

ZeroExchange Now Becomes KxoQA

I have release an update to ZeroExchange - which is now called KxoQA. KxoQA is a Question-Answer zite for many different topics. It uses merger zites for topics. If you don't see a topic you need/want, you can clone one of the default topics and it'll be available through the interface. Email me the address of the topic so that I can put it on the index (this process will be improved later). * Proper About Page * Rebranding from ZeroExchange to KxoQA * See answers and comments to your questions from ZeroHello NewsFeed * See comments to your answers from ZeroHello NewsFeed * KxoId support * Optimization and bug fixes (no need to reload page when clicking on topic from sidebar) * The ZeroNet topic is now the default topic downloaded automatically on first startup.

Promoting Ivanq/GitCenter's Zites

... because they are too good to not have users! * [CodeR](/1CodEr7T9xNXSPcwbsvf5fHTqsixDMwDzL/) - One of the first zites he created. ZeroNet alternative to JSFiddle and CodePen. * [GitCenter](/1GitLiXB6t5r8vuU2zC6a8GYj9ME6HMQ4t/) - GitHub alternative to ZeroNet * [Kiwipedia](/1KiwiBCVBUcuypVm8FEmUW9YT6fJDXkN9r/) - Wikipedia alternative. Allows user to import directly from Wikipedia or update article on Kiwipedia with latest Wikipedia article. * [0Play Game Center](/1Ag6xidDHiPgWoDKhfSx4xFQr6WC3NqxZg) - Uses PeerMessage plugin ([you can download this here](/kxonet.bit/?/plugins)) to create a P2P gaming platform - currently has Chess (kinda buggy atm) and Tic Tac Toe (which *does* work). Also has lobby chat where the messages are sent instantly (due to use of PeerMessage) and in-game chat. * [ZPlace](/1D6f2CvDRhPeEeBAcmqGt3X9z2CkLpmv2V/) - Uses PeerMessage plugin. Clone of Reddit's 'Place' game. Ivanq/GitCenter/Imachug is also the creator of the PeerMessage plugin, btw.

Thoughts on "Cubbit"?

4 terabytes of distributed cloud storage, where each user supports a physical storage node, instead of using a data center. I like distribution and evolving beyond centralized networks, but I'm not really sure cloud storage is the best use case. What they're offering is 512 GB of storage for about $340 USD, when 1 TB external drives go for like $50, and work offline. Decentralized sites have a very strong use case because they cannot be taken down. But Cubbit is just storing files. I don't doubt that it is more secure than something like Dropbox or Google Drive. But is cloud storage really all that cost effective for the marginal use you get out of it? If you buy one of these storage units, it doesn't house your files on it, just fragments of other people's files, so when the internet goes down, you're still fucked. You can "expand" your storage to 4 TB, but in order to do so you have to go buy a 4 TB USB hard drive and plug it into the Cubbit unit. So you're basically paying a few hundred dollars to turn a USB hard drive into cloud storage, losing offline capability, and the ability to install software to it among other things. Link to their campaign with more info:

Here, but not on 0me?

It is well known that different people prefer different forms of organizing communication, even for the same kind of content. While we may complain and argue who's right, or even create a [new ultimate platform that will fix everything](https://xkcd.com/927/), today i'm here not for that kind of thing. Rather, i'm curious how many people read 0talk, but do not (or do rarely) read 0me? Personally i'm glancing over both, unless there's too much of new topics/posts at the moment.

What if you're going to invest a huge amount of money into ZeroNet.

> [What if zeronet has many big data centers ? For example, a rich man run zeronet on a data center with 100k computers.]( Instead of building a single data center, if u're rich, u'd better give incentives to the home PC owners at a certain condition they fulfill such as keeping the PC online from 8AM to 8PM and servicing with a certain list of sites which are selected by the rich-man's-site by calculating the scarcity of each site. . This method is more fail-proof and safer by decentralizing the target of the communists and dictatorships' attack. . Moreover this can attract people's interests towards zeronet.

Announcing 1+Gallery, an updated ZeroGallery Merger

Zite at: Git Center: You will need to add some ZeroGallery Hubs for any content to show up in the gallery. I will be posting the source code on Git Center soon. Would love to offer my improvements to Sorasumi Sayo, but I haven't seen any recent activity on any of his projects. Is there a feature you'd like to see in the next version of 1+Gallery? Be sure to let me know! If you want to contribute but don't know how, you could start a new hub with your favorite manga, comics, paintings, photos, etc. # Known Problems * No Chinese translation for new strings * Browser back button does not work as it's supposed to (original 0-gallery had this problem as well) * Fullscreen focus doesn't work on all browsers * UI may not work on small screens # Roadmap * Fix known problems (duh!), ~~the List Limit should be fixed tomorrow-ish~~. As for the others, I have no idea. * Gallery size in GalleryList mode (easy, but hard to do efficiently) * Beautify tags by moving often occuring namespaces such as author, artist, photographer, etc. from tags to the metadata listing for a clearer overview * Gallery editing (this is a rather big one, but this should be added to the hubs, not the merger) * Tag proposal by viewers which hub owner can then approve or block * Show pinned status in GalleryList mode (easy) * Slideshow mode with custom timer * Visual feedback on preload gallery button * Press space to go to next page # Changelogs ## Update 1+.0.4 * Added button to settings to show new R-18 content in feed * Support excluding tags in search query (eg. `!:tentacles`) * Add Chapter support, won't do much until new hub code is developed * Colored query examples on filter tab for clarity * Made "Back to Title" and "Enter Fullscreen Mode" use the general button style * Lowered min-width of the zite and changed some css so that it scales to smaller screens * Listview will now switch to 1 column on small sizes ## Update 1+.0.3 * "Preload All" button know has visual feedback * Image view is more compact (Back to tile, nav and fullscreen are on a single line) * Hub tab added with a list for ~SFW hubs, **send me your hub link if you want it added!** * Some tags now appear in the metadata list as well as in the tag list, the metadata also has two columns now to keep things compact. ## Update 1+.0.2 * "Preload All" button, as requested by Thunder * Added some spacing in various places to make the screen look less cluttered * Theme consistency for interactibles * Made the tabs look like tabs, rather than disjointed buttons * Some behind-the-screens work on making the site easy to customize (CSS variables for colors), which will allow for day/night theme (why anyone would use day is a mystery to me) and other such nonsense. * Fixed an error where hyperlinks would return 404 * Fixed an error where the last page would not be preloaded ## Update 1+.0.1 * Images now scale up to fill screen (keeping ratio) * fixed some english text * tags for crawlers * R-18 listing now works as it should (more or less) reload page after changing this setting * some graphical design changes to make the zite more in line with its zeronet neighbors ## Initial release: 1+.0 ### Added QoL Improvements * Fullscreen view-mode * Click right half of page for next * Click left half of page for back * Click outside or on text to exit * Preloading the next page (only forwards) * Indicator for preload status (hides when not hovered) * GalleryList limit setting (default 100) * GalleryDetail picture status indicator and have/total metadata * Tags are now sorted by namespace -> name ### UI Improvements * Tag listing looks better now * Removed top margin on page

Because of increased censorship I decided to download the Panodrama documentary from Tommy Robinson's YouTube channel and seed it to a torrent. The download is a zip containing the streams, there is a 720p version with audio and a 1080P dash stream without audio. Point of ZeroNet

Hi All, I joined the ZeroNet community a few weeks ago and found it to be really intriguing. I like the occasional news stories and the unfiltered, uncensored content, even if it was hard to take, and the interesting conversations. However, as time continues, I find that I struggle to find a use for ZeroNet. I see a lot of talking about ZeroNet, but don't see much more conversation. What are the hopes for ZeroNet as a community? For content? For general usage?

Online radio, exclusive events, artisan galleries and trade shows, eclectic support & training services, resource exchange.. Thank you to the developers and supporters, the coders and the users, who make this possible.

WebP images on ZeroNet won't open, but fine on clearnet

I noticed in [my experiment with WebP]( that links to WebP images would download, instead of just opening in my browser. Even right-clicking and choosing "Open image in new tab" and even "Image properties" results in a download dialog box. Example WebP on ZeroNet: I thought it was an issue specific to my browser (Vivaldi) and how it treats the WebP format. But then I tried the WebPs [on this clearnet site](https://developers.google.com/speed/webp/gallery1). Example WebP on clearnet: https://www.gstatic.com/webp/gallery/1.sm.webp And they worked. They opened in Vivaldi just fine. I then tested in Chrome and Firefox. Same thing: in all browsers, I can open the clearnet WebPs just fine, but the ZeroNet WebPs will only download. How can we fix this?

Crowdsourcing ZeroNet Features

Is there a system in which funding for certain software features can be crowdsourced? I'm thinking of something based on smart contracts with Ethereum. In this way development on ZeroNet could potentially go faster as well as provide an income for those working on it. I for one would be more than willing to work full time on ZN. However, without an economic incentive it's much more difficult to make it worthwhile. I do realize at the beginning any smart contract is based on trust, but still much less trust than simply asking for donations to a Bitcoin address. For example, I noticed someone asking for a WordPress like panel implemented for ZeroNet blogs. Since ZN is in its infancy there are many features which still need implemented to make it more secure and user friendly. An initiated smart contract with the promise of a payout once the feature was implemented would be pretty awesome. Essentially a crowdsourced marketplace for small projects is a better way to put it but it could be tailored for ZN if need be.

dumping data dir (which contains a lot of zites) into a git repo

i'm going to dump my /path/to/zn/data dir to a git repo (like [this](https://github.com/ZnCl2/NewGFWTalk.bit.archive)) so that one can download a lot of zites simply by extracting the dump and click update all sites instead of adding sites one by one or using scripts, also, using a git repo helps recovering fucked up sites. what will be included in the dump: - all sites available on the z.hex3.cf proxy - sites.json what will NOT be included in the dump: - videos, pictures, and optional files (these wont be dumped because they are binary files which doesnt get along quite well with git, and you can easily download them by clicking update all sites) - users.json and other setting files on my server (of course not, or you will know my masterseed( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) - porn sites (read [this thread](?Topic:1553079752_1Ekf2tGQLhG3iifFsuUk9RcBPx26cQmCD1) for reasons) - .db files (because they should be generated instead of being downloaded) to zite owners: as you have uploaded your site into the zeronetwork and considering how zn works, i assume that you grant anyone the permission to download and publicly redistribute anything in your site. but it's okay to require me to not include your site in the dump. if you want so, you have about 3 days to contact me using my e-mail or comment this post, and this also results your site being removed from my server. however, remember that once the git commit is made, one CANNOT undo it. you can ask me to stop dumping your site anymore and i'll remove it and stop dumping it, but i will not be able to delete old versions in the dump. to check if your site will be included, simply check if it's available on z.hex3.cf to add your site, simply open z.hex3.cf/addressofyourzite i will start the dumping process at about 4:44 a.m. (UTC) on apr 4 (this thursday), please contact me asap BEFORE that time if you want remove your site. (i surly wont check my mail box at a second before the deadline 🙃) contacts: (please speak english or chinese, or i will use google translator, which usually leads to misunderstandings) email: hex3c@outlook.com pgp: 0x428df46623333333 have a nice day🙂

Jami p2p messenger

The application uses distributed hash tables (DHT) to establish communications. This technology eliminates the use of centralized registers and the retention of personal data. Jami is based on a distributed network technology, allowing it to not use servers that require dependency and that facilitate mass surveillance. Jami stores your secrets (private keys for encryption and identity) only on the machine that executes it, which belongs to you. Your device is therefore the sole holder of your information. Jami offers a digital identity with accounts that do not require anyone exposing their personal identity. All of the communications are encrypted with no exception with the most advanced current techniques. As a free software, Jami is underpinned by an essential objective: to be a distributed communication system that respects the privacy of its users, thanks to its design without infrastructures or centralized servers. Jami is proud to be and use only free software. Jami is under GPLv3+ license. This founding principle makes it possible to attract as many people as possible from all horizons, to make all the executed code verifiable and therefore provide a healthy community development model. Jami is also officially a GNU package and a high priority project as a result of its integration as a GNU project of the Free Software Foundation.

[PSA] KopyKate Big Official 0/0 peers on upload.

I've noticed that when I put an upload on KopyKate that I won't even be able to access my own content. Thankfully there is a solution I've found that works. You're going to need the following things: •The big.kopykate.bit's current address (18Pfr2oswXvD352BbJvo59gZ3GbdbipSzh at time of writing) •The user folder under the certificate you uploaded the video with •The filename of the video that KopyKate has saved Go to the page of the video that you posted (I did this by going to "airing now") and then right-click "copy video location". That will give you your user folder and the filename of the video. Then you simply copy the video to: {ZeroNetHome}/data/{KopyKate's Address}/users/{your user folder}/{video filename}.mp4/webm/whatever This is where it gets fuzzy, but I'm very sure you only need to refresh the page to fix it, however I believe commenting allows is to properly show 1/1 peers when you're viewing your own fresh video. I just figured I would write this up in case anyone was having any trouble putting their videos on KopyKate because I see many videos with 0/0 peers.

**Be Impeccable With Your Word** – Speak with integrity. Say only what you mean. Avoid using the word to speak against yourself or to gossip about others. Use the power of your word in the direction of truth and love. **Don’t Take Anything Personally** – Nothing others do is because of you. What others say and do is a projection of their own reality, their own dream. When you are immune to the opinions and actions of others, you won’t be the victim of needless suffering. **Don’t Make Assumptions** – Find the courage to ask questions and to express what you really want. Communicate with others as clearly as you can to avoid misunderstandings, sadness, and drama. With just this one agreement, you can completely transform your life. **Always Do Your Best** – Your best is going to change from moment to moment. It will be different when you are healthy as opposed to when you are sick. Under any circumstance, simply do your best, and you will avoid self-judgment, self-abuse, and regret. **Be Skeptical, But Learn to Listen** – Don’t believe yourself or anybody else. Use the power of doubt to question everything you hear: Is it really the truth? Listen to the intent behind the words, and you will understand the real message.

Suggestion: better explanation of space limits and errors

My problems and confusion with ZeroTorrent are down to the issue of "space" apparently. So here's a recap of the current situation, followed by a proposal for improvement for 0net sites with user-generated content (e.g. ZeroTalk, ZeroMe, blog comments) that I feel would really help new users like me. ## Current + The idea of "space" (i.e. limits for user-generated content on a site) is never really explained anywhere in ZeroNet documentation or on the sites themselves (as far as I can tell). + There is some tiny text ("USED...") near comment boxes that gives unexplained info. + That tiny text then gives a hint at the issue... ***if*** you happen to mouse over it. + The error messages when a user hits their limit are meaningless *and* contradictory. > **! Content signing failed**. > Include too large 6510676B >2000000B and > **¡ File upload success** So... success? or failure? Which is it??? And "Include too large" is some kind of Google Translate error. And, in contrast to everywhere else on 0net, these messages uses bytes in huge strings of digits. ## Proposal + Post a brief explanation of space limits for user-generated content in the ZeroNet documentation (and elsewhere, e.g. wiki). + The presence of mouseover text by "USED..." should indicated by some kind of text or symbol, e.g. a coloured question mark, or "Info". + When a person posts something (or does anything that uses up their allowed space), show a popup message when they click "Submit/Upload/Post": > *All your topics, comments, votes and uploads here deduct from your total space on this site, which is [...KB].* And provide a checkbox: > *Do not show this message again.* + When a person goes over their limit for a site, error messages needs to: ++ be meaningful not only to the developer but to the person directly affected, i.e. the user ++ not contradict each other ++ give the user an idea how to proceed E.g. > **! Failed to publish content** > You have gone over your total allowed space for your content on this site. Either delete some or contact the site admin to increase your limit. > Your content=127KB. Limit=100KB.

Edible, pristine mushrooms (probably longer lasting and clustered)

They're biocompatible with the human body, even if immune compromised. Humans don't have helminths resistance by themselves. You have to integrate fungi into your body. Do it through the nasal passages, thin damaged skin and the cheeks. The nose is probably the best place to give it a home. Don't worry you won't get mushrooms but your snot might be a little different. When they tell you that your immune system is all in the gut that's a lie. It's also the fungi in your bloodstream. It's no wonder even the best immune system could pick up a disease and be unable to cure it. It's because we've been taught it's all in the gut and it's all bacteria. Well I'll tell you that's all a lie. In fact we are not too different from fungi and that's where I think the biocompatibility comes from. Obviously you don't want fungi that is known to attack people. Yeast most infamously. No to candida as well. If you are a biology student working at University, you have to dig deep into this. This is hardly ever looked into. This could be some of the most important research of our lifetime. There's a Nobel Peace prize for you if you do. I'm pretty sure I'm the first to explore the human subject in mycosymbiosis, but this had been tested on farm animals before, so the research is out there already. I don't have papers but other people do. This is to reassure you that this is entirely real.

Most people I've spoken to seem to have a low opinion of ZeroNet.

## Seems to me like the biggest turn-offs for most people are: - The negative connotations of an uncensored deep-web. - The negative connotations of cryptocurrency, as well as the lingering memory of cryptocurrency scams. - The fact that it's based on an overly hyped technology that seemed very promising and revolutionary in the beginning (blockchain), but ultimately fell short of people's expectations and disappointed the world in 2018. - The fact that you have to download a zip file to be able to access it. - The fact that Tor is no longer trusted among the security and privacy conscious. - Simply mentioning anything with the words 'crypto-' or 'decentralized' seems to make people cringe these days. There's also websites out there like BitChute that are providing uncensored alternatives to YouTube, using less-than-perfect technology like WebTorrent (which has largely been a failed experiment due to the memory bug that occurs when seeding large amounts of files). BitChute is still more popular than ZeroNet despite WebTorrent being bugged to the core. Why? Because people don't have to download anything to be able to stream the videos. Only 'uploaders' have to download the WebTorrent client. That said, BitChute is still unpopular, and most people will still use YouTube no matter how much they hate censorship and copyright law. Just because .... practically everybody uses YouTube. You also have sites like RARBG that are replacing The Pirate Bay... so even ZeroNet zites like ZeroPlay seem largely useless to the average consumer except for the really privacy-conscious. ## Does that mean that ZeroNet has become obsolete? Absolutely not. I just think that we need to be honest with ourselves and admit that technology can never solve problems that are ultimately political in nature, no matter how computer savvy you are... because powerful governments like the US will always find a way to outsmart you with their own hackers and engineers. It can of course provide a temporary lifeboat, but this will only last for as long as you remain small and unnoticed.. because the minute any technology becomes too big and draws too much attention, the regulators will take notice and hammer it to the ground.. and then it just becomes a game of whack-a-mole. ZeroNet does of course have uses other than bypassing legal restrictions... such as: - Being able to host sites without any hosting fees - Being able to view content while offline (could be useful for space missions and Mars colonies where there's communication delays) - Having access to large amounts of raw data (great for Artificial Intelligence), etc. - Greater security (certainly not immune to hacks and exploits, but more secure than hosting on a server.) ## Remember also that ZeroNet can't and never will replace the clearnet And you only need to look at the fact that we will never have basic functionalities like automatic video encoding for any of our video sharing zites without relying on large, high speed, centralized servers to do the heavy lifting for the average consumer. (Unless you introduce a system like Bitcoin mining where everyone gets paid a small fee for encoding small chunks of video data from all over the world). It's for this reason why I think we just have to embrace more clearnet functionality (such as proxies) and try to avoid relying on the censorship issue in order to promote this wonderful technology to the mainstream.

Millchan merger site

[Millchan Engine](/17gCoQDCAAoQkzKRiajFNUAhnVD2gSNmuC/) is a merger site running a modified version of the Millchan engine to work with the merger plugin. Each merged hub will behave as its own board. **Why?** - Hub owners have full control of the data in their hubs. That means being able to delete and modify files, define allowed certificates, etc; - '''DOWNLOAD AND HELP DISTRIBUTE ALL FILES''' will work for individual hubs. That means not having to download everything on Millchan to help distribute files for specific boards; - Simplification of codebase. [Example hub](/13kifcv8J8noDEXdztXY4qkPPPKLK2PiAe/)

What do you think about having a ZeroArchive to save websites?

+ [Wikipedia - Web archiving](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Web_archiving) ZeroNet is already its own preservation system, but what about having something on 0net like the Wayback Machine (a.k.a. Internet Archive) or [Archive.today](https://archive.today/) for clearnet sites, allowing easy archiving of clearnet webpages because: + the content might change, disappear or be behind a paywall + the content might be blocked on clearnet in certain locations Maybe have hubs, so that people don't have to download the entire thing. Hubs based on things like: + language + content type Features that would be nice: + set up automated saving of pages + a [bookmarklet](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bookmarklet) or browser extension to instantly archive the page you're viewing Obviously there would need to be protection against spam & other abuse. --- I've been dabbling in my own incompetent way, [saving a newspaper blog]( (whose images of newspaper front pages disappear after one day) in [mhtml]( & [structured html](https://github.com/gildas-lormeau/SingleFile) and posting to ZeroUp Unlimited. I've also been looking at [Page Cache Archiver](https://addons.mozilla.org/en-GB/firefox/addon/archiver-menu/) which, along with a list of archiving websites already built-in, allows saving to a custom archive (but I have no idea how to make that work). But it would be great if there was a dedicated 0net solution, e.g. archive zite + tools (script / bookmarklet / whatever).

Within Our Lifetime

#Health Doctors will become obsolete. Symbiotes unheard of will be recognized to be as important as endospore bacterium. Done this. You'll hear more from me about it. People will manufacture their own medicine, not just print, but perform the chemistry. I've invented one long ago. Pandemia will be ever more likely. #Weapons Gauss and microwave laser guns powered by graphene supercapacitors. I've seen Gauss guns being made on YouTube. Microwave guns might be the new mace. Microwave mace. Biological weapons will become a major problem. #Food Vertical gardening warehouses will become the norm. #Law Government will become obsolete but not disappear. Headhunters will become more common. Marijuana will still not be federally legalized, so in some respects state rights will triumph and the federal state powers will be abstracted away one by one. States will legalize psilocybe mushrooms for medicinal purposes. #Social No matter who you are, you'll get to express yourself freely. Musical genres will no longer be thought of as racially linked, but we'll wonder why they were. Black rockers and white rappers, all blends and combinations never questioned. The quality of music will improve with inhibitions gone. #Software Everything will be decentralized, some P2P. ##I say these things because they are all too possible and make too much sense. But then again, I hope only the positive outcomes take place. I don't claim to be a prophet. All of this is unfolding or will unfold within scientific plausibility.

How to increase space limit on a zite?

(Space for users' comments etc). I've tried modifying [my blog's]( `data/users/content.json` per the advice [here]( e.g. changing `"max_size": 10000` to `"max_size": 50000` But now I get this: > Internal error: ValueError: Expecting , delimiter: line 25 column 4 (char 694) > UiWebsocket.py line 230 > UiWebsocket.py line 1047 (I know it's probably something basic, like "Turn off ZeroNet before editing those files".)

#Article11 Article 11 – the #linktax is an effort of corporate lobbing. It gives extra copyrights to press, requiring a license from the publisher for anyone who would like to use even the shortest fragment from a press relies or an article – this also refers to link snippets (the title, description and picture in a link). In effect Article 11 will kill all independent media and online polemic. #Article13 Article 13 – the #uploadfilters dumps the responsibility for posts & comments from the authors to the owners of the websites. It offers a tool to help the owners of website to filter the content – a filtering IT infrastructure that all website will need to connect to. This filter will censor all content which will consider that violate copyrights before the post or comment will go public. Source: https://www.stopacta2.org/en/ HELP TO STOP ACTA 2 !!!!!

Backing up users.json doesn't backup zeroid.

Using Zeronet on Android. When I backup my zeronet users.json file and copy and paste it back in to the data folder it doesn't reclver my zeroid, and the files menu doesn't report a zeroid file in the list. I had to back up my entire zero folder to recover my zeroid. So I now have 101MB of data just to back up an account. Any ideas why the users json wont preserve zeroid?

The Lightbulb Conspiracy - Planned Obsolescence Did you know that the lifetime of light bulbs have been reduced on purpose to just 1000 hours? Or that your printer may 'break' after a predefined number of printed pages determined by an electronic counter? Or that Apple batteries lasted only 18 months which meant that you had to throw away your iPods and buy another? What about Dupont stockings that were strong enough to tow a car, before they went back to design a stocking that would wear out more quickly! Have you ever heard the phrase '...They don't make them like they used to' or have you ever wondered why an item fails as soon as the warranty expires or maybe just finished making payments on your car when the mechanic tells you it's time to buy a new one as it's beyond economical repair. They say we live in a 'thow-away' society, just look at what turns up in Ghana labelled as '2nd-hand-goods' to get around dumping regulations. ...oh, and see if you can guess how long a lightbulb in a Californian fire-station has been burning for, 1 year? ...5 years? ...10 years? ...watch and see! This documentary from Norway now released under creative commons licensing was originally called 'The Pyramid of Waste - The lightbulb conspiracy' sheds some light (sorry!) on the designed lifespan of products. ..I just hope they don't have an equivalent program for people ...or do they? -i'll leave that one for the conspiracy theorists.

How would EU's Article 17 (previously called Article 13) affect ZeroNet?

I guess the question is, rather, "would Article 17 affect ZeroNet and other P2P services _at all_?" Below you have an extract from the document wherein Article 17 is established; it explicitly says that it will affect services "the main or one of the main purposes of which is to *store* and enable users to upload and share a large amount of copyright-protected content [...]". I reckon that would leave any P2P network out, since it is not the service _per se_ that stores the content, but the user, which would be the one liable for its copyright infringements. Anyhow, I am glad that big corporations have to deal with this upheaval; I wish this really makes a dent on their shields. I know this is a very unpopular opinion, but at the end of the day it is doing more good than harm. Extract: "The services covered by this Directive are services, the main or one of the main purposes of which is to store and enable users to upload and share a large amount of copyright-protected content with the purpose of obtaining profit therefrom, either directly or indirectly, by organising it and promoting it in order to attract a larger audience, including by categorising it and using targeted promotion within it. Such services should not include services that have a main purpose other than that of enabling users to upload and share a large amount of copyright-protected content with the purpose of obtaining profit from that activity. The latter services include, for instance, electronic communication services within the meaning of Directive (EU) 2018/1972 of the European Parliament and of the Council 14 , as well as providers of business-to-business cloud services and cloud services, which allow users to upload content for their own use, such as cyberlockers, or online marketplaces the main activity of which is online retail, and not giving access to copyright-protected content."

Centralization and Begging

Think about how Google does a lot of good things, but also manages to do some few very shitty things, censoring the very information that the MIC needs to remain secret for psychotic greed. A lot of very good and very talented people work for Google, but what gets in the way is the fact that power within corporations like this is an hierarchical pyramid. Because of the centralization of power, it takes one or a select few people who are either corrupt or they are being threatened by an outside evil entity. The NSA for instance threatens the very programmers whose software we rely on when they can. Whenever they are in reach. That doesn't mean that Google is not terrible or that it's not evil, but centralization is the vector of evil for which these companies become infected. This is why we sometimes support small businesses, barter, or buy off the black market for a few things. Maybe some of us are purists because we don't want to feed the problem, and that's good. That's also very difficult. I'm probably not one of them, although I try as you might. Anyway the point is that maybe we need to not look at this as an economics problem but look at this as a structural problem, because money does exist for compensation of goods and services. How many more solutions to money can there be? I think but do not hope that we've run out of ideas there. You can't destroy that which is defective such as the structure of society, but if you have the better solution, I think Darwinism could favor it. You don't have to operate within its rules, but you do have to prove the worth of a new system and it has to be executed and it has to be on the ground running and it has to be infectious and it has to be nothing but good. Constructive, not destructive. Most importantly, unstoppable. The icing on the cake is to very casually dodge the law and/or normalize the solution. Eventually the superior system could occupy and squeeze out the inferior system. Also, I don't think we're going to stop censorship reaching an absolute maximum. It's still worth trying to resist in my mind because I'm not a defeatist, but isn't that starting to look a little subjective at best what defeatism is with the way things are going, downhill, very consistently headed there? Plan B, for whatever problems needs to be executed at the same time as plan A or preferred. We need to stop just asking permission to thrive as decent human beings. This is why ZeroNet was invented. Tamas cannot rely on those greedy know-nothing politicians in Hungary or anywhere bossing and taxing everything to hell with the threat of prison or death. It takes a secret society to run a government doesn't it? So why would anyone rely on them? It's the same reason why you don't ask a thief to watch your house while you're on vacation. There is little to nothing that you can get from asking the petty for anything. You don't expect change from them. You know that they are hardwired to always subvert you. So what we have to do is to never rely on begging mercy. Begging is not how wars are won. I do believe the top 1% of the 1% is at war with the rest of us. I believe your illness could be much easier to treat or cure than the doctors tell you. I believe in making sexual predators fear for their lives and I won't apologize. I believe you could pave these roads for a fuckton less than what's coming out of your paycheck right now. You should always call the shots. Don't ask permission to thrive. And yes, sometimes that means that you have to have your own arms. Nobody will protect you. Even the police have no obligation to save your life and it is known historical and legal fact. I don't get in trouble for the things that I do because there is plenty of nuance, but online I could have done better. I don't beg permission to thrive and neither should you… ever have to. Things are so royally fucked that eventually everyone will have to survive by their own intelligence, strength, and volition.

How to use the PeerMessage plugin? I downloaded and unzipped... then what? I read the **Readme.md** and [the wiki](https://github.com/HelloZeroNet/Plugin-PeerMessage/wiki) but still don't know what to do. As a guess, I just placed the **Plugin-PeerMessage-master** folder inside my ZeroNet folder. Right now I'm trying to create a KxoID which requires the PeerMessage plugin, but it just keeps giving a spinning icon without a result.

Don't leave them in file names. This is a Zeronet bug. Or at least I think. It's a common theme between sites. @Leftside: suffered through this probably the most, because it's not just parentheses, but he did run into parentheses causing issues too.

I honestly believe a ZeroNet site like Start.me with maybe some enhancements would be awesome.

I've talked about a need for a site like this in the past. Startpages somewhat resemble the Start menu, quick launchers, homescreens, desktops, docks, etc. It's why I've used shortcut creators. This is the second best option or possibly even better. The familiarity of them is very pleasant. A great amount of functionality in one place is very convenient. Here's my public startpage. I can add notes, newsfeeds and widgets too. The site is pretty easy to use and has many options, but it doesn't mean it can't be improved in some way, such as more widgets, fewer or no clicks to make some changes and including side swiping. https://start.me/p/OmDJn6/public-startpage Being able to share and import widgets, newsfeeds, categories and shortcuts to/from other users or adding your own allows better exposure of sites and applications just because the interface is favorable to use for quite a few people. It's a very comfortable, welcoming place to start. A notification panel would be icing on the cake. The only problem would be if a ZeroNet clone of the site has fewer features than ZeroHello. We wouldn't call an alternative interface home if it's lacking in features. The idea might not make sense to you, but there's a reason why most operating systems, desktop environments and launchers have some familiarity in appearance and function to others. I hope it's easy if you try accomplishing this. A little change in user experience can go a long way. Imagine if you could add widgets for popular ZeroNet sites, having everything right there. Music, videos, making new posts and quickly replying, chatting, sharing files, writing notes, making reminders, planning routes and testing web code, none of that opening and switching tabs unless you really have to. I think you'll find a lot of people liking whatever becomes of your ZeroNet alternative to Start.me.

Please do something about this on your site, and yours, and yours

In portrait: In landscape: Both on Android. Many sites are like this. 1) Images grow in planar size (X and Y dimensions that take up actual screen space) in portrait. This is not mobile-friendly. Consistency of size is, so it's not a non-issue. It's like a caricature of what you intended. You only have to set the viewport in content.json, so refer to any site with the string containing "viewport." 2) Mobile devices do not like SVG files on localhost. Convert them to data URI or base64. These are extremely simple. I'm not here to shame any person. It took me way too long to figure out one of these. I learned about the SVG problem when QuantumKitty did the research after I've mentioned it and she told me the reason. D14na helped me with the viewport when I saw that she had the solution on her proxy. Okay so now I understand why any of you find me more important than I have found myself, but this needs to be heard and put into action. Your sites are wonderful and you guys are far more talented, but when people on Android look at your sites, all they're going to see is broken garbage. You and I know that's not true, but a lot of believing happens with the eyes.

Choice of humanity

To form a full free flowing information system that covers the world, one must consider the responsibility of the client and how to teach the client to control their resource... theres only so much an entity can do when it comes to protecting its users.. a full decentralized, world wide, free, Democratic Republic, internet network is possible, with enough collective effort of planet earth.. but only if the human body can execute it ill leave that up to the geometrics to work that out.. I see a world free of ideology religion or cultural entrapment where the epigenetical phenomenon of DNA can truly be expressed in information through the external, for it is ultimately the internal..

Does a Computer have a Subjective Experience of Reality?

What does the world 'feel' like from the perspective of a computer? Could a simple computer have its own subjective experience of reality? Is it 'conscious'? Seems to me like the answer is Yes, but it's an alien kind of experience that you and me will simply never comprehend, let alone be able to imagine. Still doesn't mean that there is No experience at all. After all, the human brain was just a squishy arrangement of molecules that, given millions of years of trial and error, simply evolved to increase its chances of surviving and reproducing... whereas the sole purpose of a computer's life is to solve mathematical equations and to navigate through logical gateways.... and so the computer wouldn't have any concept of things like Fear, but it does have a concept of logic, albeit a stricter form of logic. This would of course also depend on the computer in question. A deep learning machine will have a far richer subjective experience of reality compared to a simple calculator.

Fear is all of it

Every time you wondered if you'd get in trouble, if it wasn't for the sake of harm, it's most likely you wouldn't have gotten in trouble. The only thing you should worry about is what you can live with. It's stressful when you do something so simple and right, yet think you're in for repercussions. You're safe if you were careful and not suspicious. That's all you need. Be a happy dissident. Don't worry.
